Dear Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation (PCHF) supporters,   2023 was a year that I will be eternally grateful for. Your incredible support is the reason why we are edging ever closer to the launch of our flagship project, Pakistan's first dedicated Children's Heart Hospital & Research Institute. This dream of ours would not be turning into reality without the contributions and well wishes you have sent our way.     On our journey to conquering Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in Pakistan, in 2023 we also financially supported 600+ child heart surgeries, paving the way to a normal life for entire families affected by CHD, the world's most common birth defect.  I am thankful beyond measure to our world-class team of healthcare professionals for being true miracle-workers and the cornerstone of our cause, which is to ensure that a single child with CHD in Pakistan remains untreated. To improve the local pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgery infrastructure in Pakistan, we were also able to arrange multiple capacity-building workshops led by internationally renowned doctors.     Another key focus area of ours is raising awareness of CHD and 2023 is a year in which we placed particular emphasis on this. With CHD awareness sessions held at distinguished organizations in various sectors, making our presence felt during events across the country and hosting fundraisers as well, we definitely managed to get the word across that one of the biggest hurdles for us is the awareness of CHD itself.     Lastly, I am especially thankful to our counterparts based in the USA, PCHF North America, and legendary Pakistani cricketer & PCHF Board Member Misbah Ul Haq, for being a vital part of our success.
